Body Positivity is Disgusting – Morally, and Physically.

America is getting fatter, day by day. So feminists, with all their intellectual vigor and wonderful logic and reason, thought it would be a good idea to tell people to be proud of being fat. Yes, that’s right, feminists want fatties to be proud of consuming 6,000 calories per day and basically killing themselves. Letting someone eat themselves to death isn’t moral, and lying to someone and calling them “beautiful” is reprehensible. You’re encouraging people to  overeat, and as we know, obesity has serious health repercussions.

The Data

According to the CDC, ten of the 12 states with the highest type 2 diabetes rates are in the South. Nationwide, diabetes rates have nearly doubled in the past 20 years, more than 9% of all Americans have it now. More than 29 million American adults have diabetes and another 86 million have pre-diabetes.

Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2009–2010

  • More than 2 in 3 adults are considered to be overweight or obese.
  • More than 1 in 3 adults are considered to be obese.
  • More than 1 in 20 adults are considered to have extreme obesity.
  • About one-third of children and adolescents ages 6 to 19 are considered to be overweight or obese.
  • More than 1 in 6 children and adolescents ages 6 to 19 are considered to be obese.

Health Risks Involved in Obesity/Overweight

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (excess fat and inflammation in the liver of people who drink little or no alcohol)
  • Osteoarthritis (a health problem causing pain, swelling, and stiffness in one or more joints)
  • Some types of cancer: breast, colon, endometrial (related to the uterine lining), and kidney
  • Stroke

America is getting fatter and fatter, and as the data shows, it’s killing us. The health risks are scary, but feminists don’t care. They would rather let someone be fat and die, for the sake of being nice. I’m here to tell you facts don’t care about your feelings, fatty.  Harsh truth is better than comforting lies.

Fat Shaming Works

Scientific studies and data show that fat shaming works.  They also show that, surprisingly enough, encouraging people to be “proud no matter how fat” makes people fatter.

Firstly, if people feel shit about themselves, they’re more likely to change. A landmark study by obesity experts in 2014 found that a “desire to improve self-worth” was one of the most important motivating factors encouraging people to lose weight. What does this tell us? That encouraging fatties to “love themselves,” as the fat acceptance movement does, is the worst possible message you could send people if you want them to lose weight.

The same study found that obese people were more likely to lose weight around “life transitions,” like starting high school. In other words, people start to worry about how others will see them, especially when they need to make a good first impression. Fear of social judgement is a key factor in solving this obesity crisis. A study from UCLA’s dedicated eating research institute concurred, explicitly recommending social pressure on the overweight as a remedy to America’s obesity crisis.

In conclusion, feminists are literally lying to fatties. You’re not “healthy at every size” you’re unhealthy once your BMI gets above 24.9. Encouraging people to be fat kills them. Feminists and the body positivity movement are literally killing people.

  1. Now I do agree that people are more motivated by repeatedly being told that there’s an issue. But I don’t believe that the BMI scale is accurate. Being a strength athlete I’m quite a bit heavier than the average person of my height and age. If we could go and use the FFMI scale I think there would be a better assessment of what their health is.

  2. I don’t believe in humiliating fat people, but I dislike and disagree with some of the misleading things they spread to others about losing weight. This should be discouraged and not viewed as fat shaming.

  3. Okay so
    1. Not every fat person consumes over 6000 calories. Most consume under 2000.
    2. Fat shaming causes eating disorders, depression and anxiety amongst other mental health issues.
    3. BMI is not medically reliable anymore.
    4. Body positivity is vital in our society. Body positivity does not say “Be fat or you are worth shit.” It is about promoting a health lifestyle and mind. A lot of body positivity activists are recovering from eating disorders and wish to help people in need. None of them say “eat as much shit as you want. Eat unhealthy. Do not exercise.” They just point out that we deserve self love and that physical health is just as important as mental health.

I believe that fat shaming is pointless. If anything we should lower the costs of healthier foods so that they are more affordable.

    1. 1.) Citation needed.
      2.) Citation needed.
3.) BMI is used by the NIH and many other reputable medical organizations.
4.) Body positivity implies that, no matter what size you are, you should be proud of yourself, which is foolish. You’re advocating obesity.

      1. You’re a dumbass. You’re advocating for eating disorders which are just as much of a problem if not more than obesity. And just because reputable organizations use BMI doesn’t make it anymore reliable.

Gonna need some proof on that. Most fat people i know consume 1000-1500 a MEAL, meaning 3-4 times a day, not even counting the sweets they snack on
