Trump isn’t a good president. There, I said it.

Why do I say this?

I say this because, Trump has been president for almost a year and hasn’t done much of anything. Hardcore Conservatives like Instagram’s @too_savage_for_democrats will try to argue that Trump is the best president there has ever been. This notion is simply idiotic. Trump’s approval rating is at 39.5%, he hasn’t made any real progress on any of his main promises, and, worst of all, he distracts himself with the stupidest things. Let’s start with his promises.

Here were Trump’s four main promises:

  1. Repeal and replace Obamacare
  2. Tax reform
  3. Hillary in jail
  4. BUILD THE WALL

Has Trump made any progress on these? Nope, and before I go any further, I just want to say that prototypes don’t count as building the wall. The wall hasn’t even been started yet. Many people like to argue that it isn’t Trump’s fault that he can’t get anything done. They, instead, put all of the blame on congress.

Trump has the potential to fulfill all of his promises. He has the potential to be the greatest president of all time. Republicans control the House as well as the Senate. His incapabilities are no ones fault but his own.

The reality is that Trump doesn’t try hard enough and that he distracts himself with things like Twitter, the NFL, and with how people feel about him. He doesn’t seem to care about his image. Now, I’m not saying Trump needs his Twitter taken from him. I’m saying that he needs to focus on the promises he has made to the American people.

Quick hits:

Puerto Rico Hurricane Response

This tweet (while true) does not create the best image of Trump. Many people looked at this and said: “OMG Trump is SO unsympathetic.”

NFL protests

The NFL players kneeling was a dead concept. Few players were doing it and everyone was ignoring it. Then, Trump came along.

Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a (expletive) off the field right now. Out. He’s fired. He’s fired!

Just like that, 200+ players were kneeling as well as coaches and crew members. Some teams didn’t even bother to come onto the field. Oh yeah, and don’t forget that this was featured on every single media outlet. Shocker.

Trump didn’t stop there. He called for a boycott. Which has ruined football for lots of people. Including myself.

Why Trump’s issues are bigger than most

The reason I am so against Trump on some of the things that he says, is because he isn’t getting anything done. If Trump were a good president, I wouldn’t really care about what he says. It’s just the fact that he can’t afford to have a bad image right now.

Trump LOVES to talk. He loves to be the star of the show.  Which is fine. He just needs to put his job before his hobbies.

  1. It’s been 1 year out of the four he will serve. He’s trying to make accomplishments like he’s promised the American people, but the issue with him attempting to make changes is that everyone disagrees with anything he tries to do, because of their hatred for him before he ever had the chance to make changes.
